Geoff thanks for the reply,
I've started over from the beginning and I notice some stranger
behaviour.
When I close dQuery without saving first I get a message asking to
save and when I choose Yes and enter a name I get a bunch of those
error message. But when I cancel and save from the File menu it
doesn't seem to give error messages which is pretty strange IMHO
Also I'm not sure but the Navigator pointed to the wrong directory, I
stated again as I said and assumed that the navigator would
automatically point to the C:\dBASEtutorial\ directory but instead it
pointed to E:\dBase\test which is the folder I made to play a bit with
the program.
I'm not sure but maybe that caused some of the error messages ?
Anyway, I saw a post here that they are working on 2.62 (or is it
2.6.2 ?) which should run better on Vista/win7 then the curent one.
There is a message on the dBase site that says that 2.61.5
automatically installs correctly for Vista/Win7 but that's just to
elevate it to Admin rights.
I also noticed that the example program that comes with the tutorial
also need Admin rights to run which I hope will be fixed in a next
version of dBase plus.
