As Ken hinted, try disabling your anti-virus for a start. Also check the
Windows Event Viewer for any hint about what is happening.
If dBase has been working fine on that computer for some time, it has to
be an external factor that is causing the issue (or a hardware issue,
but that is less likely). Anti-viruses have many times caused that issue
(Trend Micro and Bit defender as far as I am concerned, Sophos as far as
others are concerned). If you are in a Corporate setting, ask your IT
support if anything could cause a program to be recognized as a threat
in any new security software they have deployed recently. You can ask
them to whitelist the dBase executable if possible.
