Well, reading through this thread, suddenly a name from the past came to
my mind:
Borland Delphi, nowadays called Embarcadero Delphi.
According to Wikipedia it is an "IDE für Object Pascal under Windows,
Android, iOS and Linux".
Somehow it seems as if the programming language was called originally
Object Pascal, but now they call it Delphi. This, again, reminds me of
some INNO scripts, where certain passages are in (Turbo?) Pascal, am I
right here, is this the same Pascal, or not?
It comes with a close connection to the Interbase database, so all in
all it looks as if it was a "programming language for general purposes".
And there are some free offers, but I didn't looked any deeper what
conditions or limitations are tied to free versions ...
Perhaps one of the seniors here in the group can correct me or share
some deeper insight.
Just my two cents, Kind regards, Heinz
