I responded to a question about this in another thread. In Excel save
the file as .CSV and then write some code to read it in ... as a .CSV
file is pure text, dBASE 5 can read it use the file functions built into
dBASE.

The other option is to use DBFImport from dBase, LLC. It's a software
package that you would need to purchase, but it should be able to do the
job for you.
