A dBASE licence is issued in respect of a single person but is valid for
the lifetime of that person. It may be installed on more than one
computer, for example a desk top computer and a laptop, but only one of
these may legally be used at any one time. The licence is, however, not
transferable so it may not legally be sold or given away.
Each licence is limited as to the number of times it can be installed.
This allows for upgrades or harddrive replacement to an extent but
limits the illegal installation of the program.
All you need to do is email customerservice@dbasellc.com and explain the
situation. When I've needed to do this in the past the number of
re-installs allowed has been extended without a problem. Your UserId
and password will be unchanged.
Mervyn.
