With the "Contains" option, whether April is shown in the date converted
to character as 04/ or 4/ the 4 in the search field will find all
records for April as well as any records for the 4th, 14th or 24th of
any month.

With the "Begins with" option you should need the leading 0 to find
April records.  I do on my computer but your computer behaves
differently so maybe not.  :-)

It depends on the size of the table and the number of people on the
system but using LIKE to select records, especially with the "Contains"
option can be hard on the system.  The SQL engine has to examine every
record to determine if it needs to be included in the rowset.  This
happens each time a character is added to the search string.

Incrementing the search one character at a time can be hard on the
network as a new rowset has to be provided as each character is added to
the search string.

She'll only start complaining I keep getting under her feet. :-(
