You need to set up your email details in Thunderbird. Click on the
three stripes below the X that closes the application. From the menu
that opens expand New and then select Existing Mail account and follow
the trail.
To set up an NNTP connection to the newsgroups click on the three
stripes and select Account Settings. On the Account Settings page
expand Account Actions and select Add Other Account. Follow the trail.
As this is a public unprotected newsgroup it is usual to add NoSpam
somewhere in your email address. The server is news.dbase.com and no
username or password is needed. Use the default settings and change
preferences to suit yourself.
Once you've established an NNTP account right click on it in the left
panel and select Subscribe. Select the newsgroups you are interested in
and Thunderbird will download messages.
To reply to emails use the Reply button. To reply to newsgroup messages
use the Follow Up button.

When you open PLUS.INI in Notepad, Notepad should put the edited file
back where it found it once you are done. The only folder that PLUS.INI
should be in is C:\Users\Your_user_name\AppData\Local\dBASE\dBASE2019\Bin\
When dBASE opens it reads PLUS.INI and if it can't find any file in the
[Custom] section it shows an error. PLUS.INI must only be edited (with
very few exceptions) with dBASE closed. If dBASE is open while you edit
PLUS.INI closing dBASE will overwrite your edited file using the "bad"
values it read when it opened.
Once you have removed the filenames from PLUS.INI that dBASE couldn't
find dBASE should open without error.
