If dBASE doesn't find the .ini file it creates a new file with all
default settings. This means that if one doesn't want the default
settings one has to re-set them manually. :-( Deleting the .ini file
should, therefore, be done as a last resort.
After you have checked in the Task Manager and closed dBASE if it was
running, open PLUS.INI in Notepad. The file will be found at
C:\Users\Your_user_name\AppData\Local\dBASE\dBASE2019\Bin\PLUS.INI
Use Ctrl-F to find [Desktop]
Scroll down until you find Position=
The figures to the right show the left, top, width and height in pixels
of dBASE when it opens. If any figure is bigger than the screen
resolution, either negative or positive, it means dBASE is opening but
it is so far off-screen that you can't see it. Change the figure to
something meaningful and save the file.
The entry in my PLUS.INI file is
Position=34 15 1284 709
Once dBASE has been opened you can change the size and it will be saved
when you close dBASE.
Mervyn.
