1) I wouldn't do it on the onGotFocus, but in a navigation or something.
2) I am guessing you probably need to refresh the grid after doing that.

form.rowset.refreshControls()

For example. You might try that before the "form.rowset.beginEdit"
option. However. Since you are then going into edit mode, the speedTip
may not display anyway. I am in the middle of a gillion things right
now. If this isn't resolved later today or tomorrow I may be able to
create an example that works, but it will take me some time.
