Hi Horst and Welcome to this newsgroup!

There are no stupid questions, just dumb answers as one of my teacher
used to say :)

This sounds like a deployment question. It's been a long time since I
used a project file to deploy an app. I would suggest Ken's dBase
tutorial as a good starting point if you have not yet worked through it
already. The tutorial guides you through the steps to create an app. You
will find it here:

http://goldenstag.net/dbase/Tutorial/00_Preface.htm

When you say that the user sees many files, could you post a screenshot
of what he is seeing (you can attach small files to your posts)?
typically, with a compiled application, and an installation script, you
would only have one file (myApplication_installer.exe) for the user to
download and to execute to install the application, so I am not sure
where or at what stage in the download/installation the user is seeing
those file. Are those the dBase forms (myApp.wfm, myApp.prg)?

When you say "make the downloaded file appear on the desktop", do you
mean something like a Desktop shortcut to run the program? or do you
mean "choose the desktop as the destination for any download"? If you
are referring to a shortcut, that would be done with InnoSetup, the
tutorial will show how to do this
(http://goldenstag.net/dbase/Tutorial/09_Build.htm).
