Is this Access 64-bit or 32-bit you are working with? It was my
understanding that Microsoft had not released 64-bit drivers for dBase
files, so I assume it is 32-bit? Just something to bear in mind if you
(or the user) were thinking of moving to 64-bit Office.

Also, instead of changing the DBE setting, why not export to CSV in
dBase and import from CSV in Access? it would avoid changing the DBE
settings back and forth. For a one-off, it's OK, but if you need to do
it repeatedly, it would be a bit of a hassle compared to using a CSV format.
