For instance (br) causes the next line etc. My question was is there some sort of a property I can change to make them not function in this particular text component in the report. Actually if there is a way to get rid of them before they hit the report makes more sense. So I will try your code in a program leading up to the report. Now that I understand that they are a problem I can try to eliminate them by program or manually from now on. Not a big deal now that I understand it is probably not possible in the report.
The tags are actual characters in the text. If you don't want then to,
for instance, add blank lines, change colours or font sizes, then you
can't switch them off.
If you change your text objects to textlabel objects the tags won't be
evaluated but you will see the actual tag characters in the text.
If you don't want the tags evaluated and you don't want the tag
characters to be seen then the only option is to remove them.
By keeping two copies of the text, one with and one without the tags,
you can have the best of both worlds.
Mervyn.
