serialcom.cc in the dUFLP should be up to the job.
Very few computers come with a serial port today so if the scale
selected uses a serial cable you may need to install an expansion card.
Alternatively you will need a USB to serial adaptor and the
appropriate driver.
If the scale uses a USB cable it should come with driver software that
emulates a serial port.
