This is great Ken and Akshat -
Made that change and now it appears to be working correctly without errors (fingers crossed).
Found this in the help file too:
Note: To accommodate record locking in a Windows NT server environment, it is necessary to set the BDE's localShare parameter to "true". This setting can be accessed through the BDE Administrator by selecting Configuration/System/Init
So, I just wish I had asked this question sooner (or searched the manual) as it is probably a couple of weeks of trying to manage bad data issues.
