I needed to think trough weather I wanted to spend the time and energy to learn a totally new programming language. I have 2 choices ... learn something new or give up and continue doing what I've been doing.  I have decided that I will go down swinging and tackle and learn the new dBASE. I know that the Ken's tutorial is just a start. I've downloaded and and going to spend the next few weeks going through it from beginning to end. Then I'll have to tackle the dBASE version of OOP which is totally different to VPM's version. Now all I need to do is find and install a newsgroup reader. I tried Thunderbird last time and had problem uploading messages. Recommendations will be appreciated. Joe
