The Convention generally adopted is to write one's reply at the bottom
of the report after deleting the unnecessary portions.
Going by this convention I should have deleted Ken's signature block.
If a code is corrected then the corrected lines are placed in between
the code.
It seems you are using browser to go through the posts. Try a news
reader. They are much more convenient to track in terms of read and
unread messages.
Have a look at the display format in Thunderbird news reader in the
attached screenshot.
